SolarRed and SolarGreen are two excellent fluorescent nucleic acid gel staining reagents that combine high sensitivity, low toxicity and ultra-stability. The waste of its water-soluble dye can be directly poured into the sewer without causing any environmental pollution. At present, most commercial nucleic acid dyes (gel dyeing reagents) are always not completely satisfactory in terms of safety, stability and sensitivity. For example, although EB(ethidium bromide), currently the most widely used nucleic acid gel staining agent, provides acceptable sensitivity in most applications, it is a highly mutagenic chemical. Moreover, EB staining has a higher background fluorescence signal.
