dehydroepiandrosterone (dehydroepiandrosterone, referred to as DHEA), the chemical name is 3-β-hydroxy-androstane-5-ene-17-ketone, also known as dehydroepiandrosterone, is a kind of cholesterol retention △ 5,6 double bonds and esterification 3-β-hydroxy-steroid, its molecular formula is C19H28O2. Its molecular weight is 288.41, its melting point is 151℃ ~ 153℃, and its rotation is +5.5°. It is a precursor of adrenal hormone secreted by the reticulum layer of the adrenal cortex. It has physiological activities such as regulating obesity, preventing diabetes, anti-carcinogenic and viral infection, improving memory, immune response and stress response, and reducing tension. And involved in the synthesis of adrenal secretion of various hormones.

The main raw material for the production of steroid drugs and contraceptives.
